Flerovium (Fl) Fun Facts
"The Island of Stability Seeker, a hero from the lab that searches for the fabled 'island of stability' where super-heavy elements might last longer."
The true essence of Flerovium (Fl) on the molecular frontier.
Flerovium is a synthetic, highly radioactive element.
Flerovium has no everyday connection, used only in research.
Flerovium is predicted to have unusual, noble-gas-like properties.

Did You Know?
It is named in honor of the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, Russia.
The laboratory itself is named after its founder, the Russian physicist Georgy Flyorov.
Flerovium is located in Group 14, below lead. It is predicted to have some noble-gas-like properties due to relativistic effects on its electrons.
Its most stable isotope has a half-life of only about 2.6 seconds.
It was first synthesized in 1998 by bombarding a plutonium target with calcium ions.
